Troops neutralise Boko Haram terrorist, recover AK-47, 90 Ammunition in Borno
Troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have neutralised a Boko Haram terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during an ambush operation in Lamusuri, Borno State.
The operation was conducted at about 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, following credible intelligence on the movement of Boko Haram elements along a suspected terrorist route in the area.
According to a Special Situation Report issued by the Joint Task Force North-East under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation DESERT SANITY V, the troops established an ambush position along the identified route and subsequently sighted a group of terrorists moving through the area.

The troops engaged the terrorists, triggering a firefight during which one Boko Haram fighter was neutralised.
Other members of the group reportedly fled the area with gunshot wounds following the encounter.
The troops subsequently recovered one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one body pouch from the terrorists.
The operation followed sustained intelligence-led efforts by the military and local security partners to disrupt terrorist movements and deny insurgents freedom of action across the theatre.
The military assessment indicated that the general security situation remained calm but unpredictable, while troops maintained satisfactory morale and fighting efficiency.
The latest operation underscores the continued offensive posture of Operation HADIN KAI and Operation DESERT SANITY V in targeting Boko Haram elements, their movement corridors and logistics networks across the North-East.
