Kidnappers Kill Two Residents, Abduct Medical Doctor, Monarch’s Wife in Kaduna
Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have launched rescue and offensive operations following the abduction of a medical doctor and the wife of a local Hakimi in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at about 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Abu village, Ninzo Ward, Sanga LGA.
According to a security source, troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, deployed at Raga General Duty location, responded after receiving a report that Dr. Ezekiel Audu and the wife of the local Hakimi had been abducted.
Preliminary information indicated that the kidnappers opened fire when two local residents confronted them as they attempted to flee the area with the victims.

The two residents were reportedly killed during the attack.
Following the incident, troops immediately launched rescue and offensive operations based on intelligence indicating a possible hideout of the fleeing kidnappers.
The troops moved into the identified area in an attempt to intercept the criminals and secure the release of the abducted victims.
However, no contact had been established with the kidnappers as of the latest security update.
The military said efforts were continuing to locate and rescue the victims while pursuing the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
Security forces have also intensified surveillance and patrols across the area as the search operation continues, with further developments expected as efforts to rescue the victims progress.
