NCC Arrest 3 For Selling Pirated Books In Abuja

Operatives of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) have arrested three persons in Mpape Old and New Markets in Abuja for selling pirated books.

The NCC Director of Operations, Mr Obi Ezeilo, who disclosed this, said the arrests were made during an anti-piracy operation carried out by copyright inspectors and the police.

He gave the names of the suspects as Mr Chukwudi Okenwa, Mr George Chimezie and Alhaji Saidu Abdullahi.

He said 221 copies of books with various titles with an estimated market value of N450,000 were confiscated during the operation.

Ezeilo listed some of the impounded books as The Saint by Tade Adegbindin; Understanding Mathematics, Books 1, 2 and 5 and King James Version and Revised Standard Version of the Holy Bible belonging to the Bible Society of Nigeria.
