NSCDC deploys 2,500 personnel for Saturday’s elections in Osun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun, has deployed 2,500 personnel to provide security during the  Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.

The corps Public Relations Officer, Mr  Babawale Afolabi, said this in a statement on Friday in Osogbo.

Afolabi reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to ensuring optimal security of lives and property of the citizenry.

He advised parents and guardians to warn their wards against being used as political thugs.

The spokesman who said that violence of any sort would not be tolerated by the corps, warned the people to desist from any act that would contravene the electoral laws.

He encouraged the electorate to participate actively in the process so as to exercise their civic rights.

Afolabi assured of adequate security while calling on the people of the state to call the emergency numbers provided in case of any security situation.
