IGP lays foundation for Public Relations school
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on Friday, laid the foundation of the Nigeria Police Public Relations School in Ilorin.
The IGP, represented by Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ahmed Oladipupo, said the school was created to enhance the police public collaborations based on mutual respect and understanding.
He said that the public relations officers who are saddled with the responsibility of standing in for the police must be equipped with the skills to carry out their assignments.

He stressed the need to constantly inform the public of the achievements of the Nigeria police force to improve public perception.
“These and many other benefits is the opportunity that the police public relation school is going to provide.
“The foundation laying of the school has come at the right time because it was established under my administration for the first time in the history of Nigeria Police Force in August 2017.
“This is part of my resolve to bequeath to the force an avenue for the development of public relations practice, in response to the daunting challenges of policing Nigeria in the 21st century,” the IG said.
He assured the state command that the project would be properly founded and completed.
