The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, in connection with a N110.4 billion fraud case. The court moved the hearing to November 27, 2024, after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) requested more time to ensure Bello’s appearance. Bello, along with co-defendants Shuabu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, faces charges of criminal conspiracy and breach of trust related to the alleged embezzlement of state funds.
The court had initially issued a public summons for Bello, but his legal team requested additional time for the proceedings. The case is now set to continue later this month after agreement between the prosecution and defense teams.
