Wreckage of Crashed Helicopter Found in Atlantic Ocean
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has located the wreckage of the helicopter that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean last Thursday, carrying Nigerian National Petroleum Limited workers from Port Harcourt.

A statement from the Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji, confirmed the discovery. The helicopter, a Sikorsky SK76 with registration 5N BQG, was found about 0.775 nautical miles from FPSO Adoon at a depth of 42 meters.
The crash involved eight passengers and crew. So far, five bodies have been recovered, while three passengers remain missing.
The NSIB, along with its partners, is preparing to recover the wreckage to aid the ongoing investigation. Captain Alex Badeh, NSIB’s Director General, praised the search team’s efforts and emphasized the importance of the discovery in understanding the accident’s cause.
