Justice Maryanne Anenih made the ruling on Thursday, allowing the EFCC’s request to field the witnesses—currently residing abroad—remotely.
Emefiele is facing a six-count charge, including allegations of unlawfully printing new naira notes, among other offenses. The court had adjourned the trial to October 17 after the prosecution’s fourth witness, Edward Adamu (former Deputy Governor of Corporate Services at the CBN), completed his testimony.
EFCC lawyer A. O. Mohammed informed the court that the two upcoming witnesses are based in the United States.
