NNPCL to Release N15bn Worth of Products to Marketers After DSS Mediates Dispute

Following mediation by the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Ajayi, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has agreed to release N15 billion worth of petroleum products to independent marketers. This resolution came after a meeting involving NNPCL’s Group CEO, Mele Kyari, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).

The dispute, which included issues over pricing and Dangote Refinery’s non-compliance in selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN, was successfully mediated, allowing marketers to resume loading products. Additionally, NMDPRA has agreed to issue import licenses to IPMAN, signaling a step toward full deregulation of the oil sector.
