DSS Denies Nnamdi Kanu Access to Legal Team, Ejimakor Raises Concerns
Aloy Ejimakor, lead counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of denying Kanu access to his legal team. Ejimakor expressed concerns over Kanu’s health following DSS’ actions.

Kanu has not been allowed visitors since September 24, 2024, when he requested the recusal of Justice Binta Nyako from his case. Despite Nyako stepping down, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court overturned the recusal, allowing her to continue with the trial. However, DSS continues to block attempts by Kanu’s lawyers to visit him.
Ejimakor noted the violation of court orders by DSS and questioned Kanu’s wellbeing, asking: “Is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu hale and hearty?”
