EFCC Arrests 76 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Port Harcourt

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 43 suspected internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt, bringing the total number of arrests in the city within the last 24 hours to 76 . This sting operation was carried out by the EFCC’s Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, following credible intelligence regarding the suspects activities .

The suspects were apprehended for alleged internet fraud, including computer-related offenses .Items recovered from them include: various brands of mobile phones and laptops international passports and Automated Teller Machine cards from different banks, five vehicles, two motorcycles, and a Point of Sale machine_

According to Dele Oyewale, the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation ¹. This latest crackdown is part ing efforts to combat internet-related crimes and protect citizens from their harmful effects ¹.

In a related development, the EFCC had earlier arrested 33 suspected internet fraudsters in Port Hacounterfeit dollars and other items
