Reps Summon EFCC Chairman, Bobrisky, and Others Over Bribery Allegations
The House of Representatives has summoned the EFCC Chairman, Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) Comptroller General, Bobrisky, and social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, in connection with serious bribery allegations.
A letter from Jon Ginger Onwusibe, the Lead Chairman of the joint committee investigating the matter, was sent on Friday to all involved parties. The inquiry centers on accusations of corruption involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
Among those invited are key figures such as ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman, former Controller of Corrections in Lagos, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Correctional Service Board, Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller in charge of Medium Security, and Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Maximum Security.

In April, Bobrisky was arrested by the EFCC on charges of money laundering and Naira mutilation. During his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Abimbola Awogboro dismissed the money laundering charges but sentenced him to six months in prison for the Naira-related offense.
Months after his release, VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording on Instagram where Bobrisky allegedly claimed that EFCC officials extorted N15 million from him in exchange for dropping the money laundering charges. The recording was made public after Bobrisky reportedly failed to repay N4 million borrowed to raise the bribe.
In response, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede ordered an immediate investigation and requested both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to appear at the EFCC’s Lagos office for questioning. Separately, the Minister of Interior has launched an inquiry into claims that Bobrisky bribed prison officials to avoid serving his sentence inside prison.
