No fewer than two hundred suspected criminals were in the last one week arrested by policemen from the Lagos State Police Command.
Some of the suspects were on Wednesday paraded before newsmen by the new commissioner of police in the state, CP Olanrewaju Ishola.
The police boss, while briefing newsmen during the parade of the arrested suspects, also warned criminals in the state that the police would make the state tough for them.
The Lagos State Police commissioner told journalists that the suspects were arrested for different offences like: armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, cultism, illegal possession of hard drugs amongst others.
“In one week, we have raided bad spots and made this number of arrests. I am not saying that all of them will be charged to Court. We are going to profile them to know those who were in the wrong place at the time we raided.
“We will separate the innocent from the bad boys. We are aware of prison congestion, but that is for the judiciary to decide what to do with them, but I cannot says because of prison congestion, I won’t do my job as the CP. We must do our job as Policemen.

“I am not begging any criminal to repent or relocate to other states. If I ask you to relocate, I am causing problems for the neighbouring state and pushing works to them. It is better I arrest them here and send them to jail”.
Although the CP paraded 200 suspects, but he said, “Before you today, we have a total of 98 suspects who have engaged in various crimes including cultism, robbery, possession of hard drugs and kidnapping, etc.
“From all these cases which we successfully cracked, we recovered a total of 10 firearms, 41 live ammunition,12) phones, one vehicle, cash of 402 US Dollars, 39 bags of cement, one vehicle, one laptop, one ton of iron rods, various substances suspected to be hard drugs, axes, hammer, daggers, knives, and charms.
“On September 22, 2024, operatives of the Command arrested the trio of Desmond Emeka, 28; Kingsley Izoronwu, 37, and Sheriff Olusunmoadi, 25, who specialised in robbing female passengers at night with their Toyota Camry car.
“Found in their possession was one locally made pistol with six live cartridges and twelve iPhones.
“Also, based on report of a case of kidnapping of a 21-year-old girl and demand of a N10 million ransom.
“Operatives of the command swung into action and arrested Hassan Samson, Nnemka Chibike, and Segun Akinyola, in their hideout around Badagry. The kidnapped woman was released unhurt.”
