APC Group Urges President Tinubu to Call EFCC to Order Over Alleged Unprofessionalism
The National Progressives Hub, a support group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has petitioned President Bola Tinubu, raising concerns over the operations of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The group condemned what it described as the “unprofessional, shameful, and unethical” conduct of the anti-graft agency.
This comes after an attempted arrest of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, at the Kogi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The group criticized the EFCC for its actions, noting that Bello had earlier reported to the EFCC office, only to be turned away, yet later faced a night-time raid by the agency’s officials.

Hon. Bukkie Okangbe, the group’s National Coordinator, urged President Tinubu to intervene, calling on the EFCC leadership, headed by Olanipekun Olukoyede, to adhere to the law and maintain professionalism in its operations.
The group expressed disappointment with the EFCC’s actions, stating, “Our laws respect the dignity of every citizen, and any agency behaving contrary to this must be called to order.” It added that the raid on Bello’s residence was “unlawful” and “capable of throwing the nation into another security uproar.”
They further accused the EFCC of conducting a “mere media trial” without substantial evidence against the former governor, and implored President Tinubu to prevent the agency’s actions from tarnishing his administration’s image.
The group reiterated its support for the Tinubu administration, calling for better coordination between the government and its agencies to avoid inciting public unrest.
