Yahaya Bello’s Legacies Remain Indelible in Kogi – Chief Aiyenale Fred Jimoh Extols Former Governor
A chieftain and critical stakeholder of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kogi State, Chief Aiyenale Fred Jimoh has described the immediate past Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello as a leader and a true freedom fighter who citizens should never forget his dedication and services he rendered towards liberation and ensuring unity of the confluence State.
Chief Aiyenale, a community developer disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Kabba on Friday evening.
He added that the political experience, skills and expertise of the former Governor set the foundation for the physical development of the present modern Kogi State.
“People including my humble self love and admire Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his style of politics and leadership that made Kogi State a home of peace and opportunities for everyone,” Chief Aiyenale said.
He further described the former Governor’s courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities as a flowing stream that never dries.
The APC stalwart recalled how the eight-year administration of former Governor Bello made Kogi State witness development giant strides across several sectors including agriculture, health, education, infrastructure and economy just to mention but a few.

He said: “Former Governor Yahaya Bello Adoza, has been widely lauded for his transformative leadership during his tenure, marked by bold reforms and infrastructure development. Under his administration, Kogi witnessed unprecedented progress in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and road construction, positioning the state as a model of good governance in the North-Central region.
He added that the commitment of former Governor Bello’s administration to youth and women empowerment through various programs also significantly reduced unemployment while fostering inclusivity and equity in governance and politics.
According to Chief Aiyenale, Bello’s bold security initiatives equally helped curb criminal activities, making Kogi one of the safest states in the country while equally strengthening its infrastructural capabilities.
“Yahaya Bello’s administration also left a lasting legacy in the area of infrastructural development, with notable projects such as the construction of state-of-the-art Kogi State Reference Hospital in Okene, the transformation of the Lokoja township stadium to a modern civic centre, establishments of two additional state’s owned University, Kogi State Revenue House, model secondary schools across federal constituencies in the State and improved road network across rural and urban areas such as Ganaja flyover located at Lokoja, the capital city of the State.
“His focus on agriculture modernization, through the Kogi Agricultural Development Project, increased food production and attracted significant investment to the state’s agricultural sector.
“Beyond physical development, Governor Bello is praised for fostering unity across ethnic groups in the state, maintaining a balanced and peaceful coexistence during his time in office.
