Islamic Organization Calls for Global Actions to Enforce ICJ Ruling on Israel-Palestine Conflict
At a World Press Conference in Ibadan, Islamic organization Aqsah Nigeria urged global and African leaders to enforce the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) July 19, 2024, ruling, which declared Israel’s military actions in Palestinian territories unlawful. The group, led by Barr. Rasheed Atta, called for mass mobilization and sustained public awareness to uphold the judgement and bring an end to the ongoing violence and displacement of Palestinians.
Atta described Israel’s annexation of Palestinian land and its discriminatory policies as violations of international law, and he called for world leaders to unite against the oppression of Palestinians. He emphasized the need for the United Nations to act on the ruling, warning against allowing the judgement to become another ignored legal decision.
