EFCC Returns Stolen Vehicles, $180k to Canadian Victim
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) handed over 53 recovered vehicles and $180,300 to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on behalf of Canadian victims of financial crimes. EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, led the transfer in Abuja, where representatives from the RCMP and Canadian High Commission were present.

The vehicles, stolen in Canada and tracked to Nigeria, were recovered from various car dealerships and customs ports. Additionally, the EFCC returned $164,000 to Elena Bogomas and $16,300 to Sandra Butler, both defrauded in romance scams. Olukoyede emphasized that these recoveries highlight the EFCC’s commitment to fighting transnational financial crimes and cooperating with international partners to ensure justice for victims.
RCMP officials praised the EFCC’s professionalism and dedication in tackling global financial crimes, underscoring the importance of cross-border collaboration.
