On Friday, Nasarawa State Police arrested Hauwa Sani for hiding 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition in a gallon of palm oil.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, the arrest occurred while Sani was attempting to smuggle the ammunition to Katsina State. In addition to the ammunition, police seized ₦78,500 in cash and a mobile phone from the suspect.

Commissioner of Police Shehu Nadada has directed that Sani and the seized items be transferred to the Force Intelligence Department at the Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
The statement detailed that on August 23, 2024, at approximately 5:10 PM, police operatives from the Keffi Division arrested Sani and a two-year-old child from Doro village, Katsina State. The ammunition, concealed in a palm oil gallon, was found after Sani was intercepted en route from Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
