Three suspected kidnappers have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command.

According to reports, the suspects attempted to kidnap a car dealer at Ebute-Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu on Tuesday but were caught in the process.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, identified the suspects as Taiwo Olayinka, Azeez Sodiq, and Saheed Moonstruck.

He said that efforts are on to arrest the remaining two suspects who escaped, adding that an investigation has begun.

“Three suspects, Taiwo Olayinka 30, Azeez Sodiq 33 and Saheed Moonstruck 23, have been in our custody since yesterday, shortly after the incident, and efforts are on to arrest the remaining two suspects that escaped,” Hundeyin said in a post on X on Wednesday.

“Meanwhile, investigation has commenced,” he added.

In July, at least nine suspected kidnappers were killed, while two escaped with gunshot injuries during a gun duel with police operatives in Lagos.

The suspects were planning to kidnap some high net-worth individuals in the state before they were gunned down.
