The Katsina State Police Command says it has rescued seven victims from armed bandits along Magama-Katsina Road.
The Command said this in a statement released by its Public Relations Officer for Katsina, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu,.
According to him, the bandits had around 11:15 pm blocked Kukar Babangida Bridge situated along Magama-Katsina Road.

He said the bandits who were heavily armed intercepted a J5 vehicle and kidnapped seven passengers. kidnapped seven occupants. He said they set the vehicle ablaze before fleeing the scene.
But he said that the police, local vigilantes, and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, combined to successfully rescue the seven hostages after a fierce gun battle with the hoodlums.
One of the rescued victims, according to him suffered gunshot wounds and had started receiving medical attention.
