Suspect Expresses Regret for Impersonating EFCC and Army Officers
The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded two suspects for vandalism and impersonation. Among them was 30-year-old Oluwatobi Salami, who expressed regret for his actions.

Salami was apprehended by the Sagamu community near the OGD International Market and handed over to the NSCDC. He was found impersonating an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and a Nigerian Army officer. Items recovered from him included EFCC jackets and military attire. Salami admitted to stealing the uniforms from a hotel in Lekki, Lagos, and using them to pose as an officer.
The other suspect, 20-year-old Idris Zakari, was arrested for vandalizing railway clips in Ifo Local Government Area. Zakari, originally from Kebbi State, was handed over to the NSCDC by the So-Safe Corps for further investigation and prosecution.
NSCDC Commandant David Ojelabi condemned the acts as economic sabotage and affirmed the command’s commitment to collaborating with other agencies to combat crime in the state.
