Two police officers, allegedly acting on the orders of Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, have brutalized an elderly man in two separate videos obtained by PRNigeria.

The man, who identified himself as Abdulmajid, was violently assaulted for ‘criticizing’ Governor Sani, according to the policemen who attacked him.

In the video showing the victim being tortured, one of the policemen, who was yelling at their ‘culprit,’ questioned him for attacking the Kaduna State Governor while he is not an indigene of the state.

The policeman, while aggressively beating Abdulmajid, repeatedly said in Hausa: “Are you from Kaduna State? Why are you insulting the governor? Is he your mate? Is governorship a joke? Become a governor now! Bastard! Idiot! You are arguing with me? I say kneel down!”

In response, the victim, who was handcuffed, frantically told the policemen assaulting him that he has diabetes, high blood pressure, and other underlying health challenges.

In the second video, the victim, after his release, narrated how the policemen, allegedly ordered by Governor Sani, arrested, handcuffed, and whisked him away for ‘insulting’ their principal.

“It was Governor Uba Sani who sent them. They kicked and beat me with all sorts of hard objects. They even took me to a river, threatening to kill me and dump my corpse there.

“It was only after they were done that they released me, with all the scars you can see on my body. But I can identify the officers who attacked me,” Abdulmajid explained in the video while writhing in pain.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Government has disassociated itself from the viral video showing the brutalization of the man and ordered a full investigation.

In a press statement by Muhammad Shehu Molash, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said that the government emphasized its commitment to the rule of law, due process, and human dignity. Governor Uba Sani has vowed to get to the root of the matter and ensure justice is served.

Molash said that Governor Uba Sani had been working assiduously to rebuild trust and give all citizens of the State a sense of belonging.

“We accommodate all shades of opinion and have created a conducive atmosphere for all political views to thrive…

“The governor has therefore ordered a full investigation into the alleged incident. He is determined to get to the root of the incident and will ensure that the full wrath of the law is brought to bear on anyone found culpable.”

PRNigeria could not reach the police spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi for comment after attempts.
