NiMet Launches Anti-Corruption Initiative to Uphold Ethical Standards
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, called on staff to prioritize ethical conduct at the launch of the agency’s Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy and Code of Ethics in Abuja on Tuesday.
Anosike highlighted that integrity and accountability are vital for organizational success, stating, “Upholding these values will build trust with our clients and stakeholders, enabling NiMet to fulfill its mandate of contributing to national socio-economic development and ensuring the safety of lives and property.”

In collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Anosike reaffirmed NiMet’s commitment to fighting corruption and institutionalizing ethical standards within the public service. He presented the NiMet Code of Ethics and the Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy, emphasizing their role in promoting a culture where corruption is intolerable.
Anosike urged all staff to strictly adhere to these guidelines, reinforcing NiMet’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption to ensure transparency and accountability in all operations.
Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, Chairman of the ICPC, represented by Charles Nwosu, praised NiMet for its proactive approach, noting, “We are impressed with NiMet’s commitment to this initiative. It demonstrates leadership in the national fight against corruption and aligns with the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.”
