Palestinian Envoy Slams US for Resuming Bomb Supply to Israel, Warns of More Bloodshed
Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh, has condemned the United States’ decision to resume supplying Israel with 500-pound bombs, a move that has sparked widespread criticism from Palestinian officials and human rights groups.
‘This decision is a clear perpetuation of Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinian people,’ Ambassador Abu Shawesh said in a statement.
He said the US is complicit in this war and its actions will only lead to more bloodshed and suffering for Palestinian people.
The decision comes despite mounting civilian casualties in Gaza, where Israel’s ongoing military offensive has killed over 38,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 90,000.

Abu Shaweed quoting the Wall Street Journal, said the Biden administration had previously suspended the shipment of bombs due to concerns over civilian casualties. However, the suspension has been lifted, and the bombs are expected to be shipped to Israel soon.
The statement reads in part: “The situation in Gaza remains dire, with 96% of the population facing acute food insecurity and half a million people in catastrophic conditions.
“Israel’s destruction of water sources and desalination plants has left thousands without access to clean water, and the siege has trapped over 12,000 wounded and 14,000 sick people, including 10,000 with cancer and other serious diseases.
“The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate reported that 152 media correspondents have been killed and 100 journalists arrested, with 52 still in detention. Hundreds of Gazans, including journalists and their family members, have been killed in Israeli bombardments.
“The international community has been urged to take action to stop the bloodshed and ensure accountability for Israel’s actions. “Counting the number of Palestinian victims does not equate to ensuring safety.”
“Ignoring, disregarding, and violating international law will have negative consequences for everyone,” said the Envoy.
