FG Moves to Boost Food Production, Unveils Women Agricultural Initiative

The Federal Government is set to launch the Women for Food Security Programme on August 8, 2024, in Abuja, aimed at enhancing production and accessibility across the country.

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye who disclosed this today in her office in Abuja stated that the initiative is inspired by the Indian model of mechanized farming and aims at ensuring food availability for all Nigerians.

The programme, she stated further, aligns with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration’s commitment to ensuring adequate food production and security for all Nigerians.

By empowering women in agriculture, the Women for Food Security Programme, the Minister said, is poised to make a significant impact on the country’s food landscape, ensuring availability and accessibility of food for all.
