Customs Operatives

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adamawa/Taraba Command, has intercepted 85 drums of PMS and another set of 795 jerry cans on the Nigeria – Cameroon border.

According to the Command, the items were in the process of being smuggled out of the country to neighbouring Cameroon by saboteurs.

It also disclosed that it had further intercepted a Carina E vehicle with a hidden compartment loaded with PMS and various contraband items with duty paid value of N36, 952,342.50.

Making the disclosure Friday at a press conference in Yola, the comptroller of the Adamawa/Taraba Command, Bashir Garba Bature, attributed “these successes to the support of the Comptroller General, Bashir Adeniyi’s unwavering commitment and the synergy existing among various units and sister agencies.

He said NCS was focused on growing the nation’s economy by “improving trade facilitation in Nigeria according to the global practices.”

He appealed to the general public to support their efforts and to report any suspicious activities “in good time.”
