Islamic New Year: KCSF President Congratulates Muslims, Harps on Unity, Peace

The Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF) has felicitated with the Muslim community on the commencement of the Islamic New Year 1446 AH.

The felicitation message was disclosed in a statement signed by the President of the forum and Chief Executive Officer of the African Center for Innovative Research and Development (AFRI-CIRD), Mohammed Bello, in Kano.

He emphasised the significance of the Islamic New Year in the lives of Muslims, thereby tasking them on embracing the spirits of brotherhood, unity and peace for national development.

The President noted that “the Islamic New Year is a time for reflection on the past and a moment to look forward to the future with renewed hope and commitment to the values of Islam and humanity.”

He stressed the need for tolerance and collaborative efforts among the citizens of Kano and assured of the forum’s unwavering support towards promoting socio-economic development of the State.

Mr. Bello expressed optimism that the new Islamic year would usher in more opportunities for Kano state and Nigeria at large, calling on the people to strengthen their faith and remain steadfast in their prayers for continued blessing from Almighty Allah.

 

The Islamic calendar consists of 12 months, similar to the Gregorian calendar.
