The Adamawa State Command of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency has declared a notorious drug baron, Baban Dada, wanted.
At a press conference to kick start the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.on Friday, the state commander, Mr. Agboalu Femi Samson disclosed that during a raid on one of Dada’s hideouts, one of his accomplices, Nura Muhammed, also known as Haske, was arrested.
Samson stated, “Just recently, our combined team of NDLEA Numan Area Command officers and personnel from the Nigerian Army conducted a successful operation based on credible intelligence.
“In Ngurore town, Yola-South Local Government, we raided a two-room mud house in Wuro Mallum village, and during this operation, we apprehended one Nura Mohammed, also known as Haske, who is an accomnpplice to the notorious drug dealer Baban Dada.”
The commander pointed out that his men seized a total of 32 ash-coloured bags containing compressed blocks of dried weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa.

Samson added that the contents of the bags amounted to 1,898 blocks, weighing a total of 1,861 kilograms, which he said is equivalent to 1.9 tons.
“While we have initiated an investigation into the case, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fugitive Baban Dada and bring him to justice.”
He noted that the operation has exemplified the command’s commitment to protecting communities in the state from the scourge of drug abuse and trafficking.
The commander further disclosed that between 2023 and 2024, his command convicted 148 offenders, including three women.
He maintained that the drug seizures have increased significantly with a total of 4,732.128 kilograms of hard drugs confiscated, representing 75 per cent increase from the 1,164.750kilogrammes seized between June 2022 and june 2023.
To win the war against drugs abuse and trafficking, the commander urged members of the public to always volunteer credible information to security agents to enable them to fight criminality in the society and achieve a crime free state.
