The Adamawa State Police Command’s war against criminal activities is yielding fruitful results, as the command reportedly napped two notorious, suspected armed robbers this week.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, it stated that the Command arrested on Monday, two out of the five armed robbers who have been terrorising motorists along the Adamawa and Gombe States highway.
The statement read in parts: “The suspects, identified as Bello Siddiki (aged 31) and Hammadu Saidu (aged 25), both residents of Sabewa Borrong, in Demsa Local Government Area were apprehended by the Command Operatives attached to the State Intelligence Department, Yola.

“Their arrest followed a thorough investigation that was carried out following the directives of the Commissioner of Police.”
The statement added, “these criminals are involved in multiple attacks on motorists along the highway, including the recent robbery of a Sienna Bus conveying passengers from Abuja to Yola, including one Hassan Kwaji, during which they attacked and robbed them of their handsets and other valuables.”
According to the statement, items recovered from the suspects included two machetes, a knife, a handset, and a SIM card, believed to have been used in committing their crimes.
Nguroje assured PUNCH that the suspects will soon be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law.
