Armed Forces College holds Field Exercises, Encourages Residents not to Panic

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCS), Jaji says it will conduct a field training exercise and urged communities around the area not to panic.

The college’s Public Relations Officer, Lt.-Col. Adam Umar, announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Umar said, “The exercise is code named ‘Exercise Ubiak-Isin” ,for the students of Junior Course 97 of the college.

He said the exercise has been scheduled to take place between May 30 and June 10, in Wusono, Anguwan Loya, and Camp Salaya General Area, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He added that during the period, there would be massive movement of military personnel and equipment to and from the exercise area.

“Given the above the public, especially people living around the exercise areas are advised to remain calm.

”They should not panic on the sighting movement of troops and equipment or hearing the sound of explosives and small arms.

“Necessary preventive measures have been put in place for general security and safety of the area.

”The public is equally implored to keep off the vicinity of the exercise during the period, “Umar said.
