Ground Troops Counter Ambushes, Inflict Casualties on Terrorists in Zamfara.
Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji displayed bravery and resilience in repelling two separate terrorist ambushes in Zamfara state on May 12th.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the troops encountered ambushes at Kuran Mota Village and along the Alikere-Yarmalimai road.

He said the troops fought fiercely to extricate themselves from the situation, leading to lost of four soldiers, and three others.
Meanwhile, five other soldiers with minor gunshot wounds from the second ambush are receiving treatment at FOB Faskari after being stabilized.
“During the ambush, troops received support from the air component Operation Hadarin Daji as well as reinforcement from FOB Yarmalimai.
“The joint effort of both forces dealt severe blow to the coalition of terrorist that gathered in numerical strength to execute both ambushes.
“Accordingly, several of the terrorist were neutralised as they suffered heavy casualties.
“Troops have recognized the terrorists’ change in tactics and adapted accordingly to maintain battlefield advantage,” Maj.-Gen. Buba emphasized.
