In 3 months, NSCDC arrested 85 suspects for various offences
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ebonyi State arrested 85 suspects between January and March, this year.
Its State Commandant, Dr Willie Elijah made this known yesterday in Abakaliki at a briefing on his sojourn since assuming office on January 8. He said the period coincided with his first 100 days in office.
Elijah said of the 65 cases reported to the command, six were convicted.

“The other cases are in various stages of prosecution at the courts as one kidnaped victim was rescued within the period,” he said. The commandant noted that his personnel patrolled schools across Ebonyi in its safe school programme even on plain clothes.
“This task is mainly executed by our female squad trained specially to protect the lives of our pupils, students and teachers including school properties.
“The command has established a creche, nursery and primary school which hopefully will be operational by September,” he said.
