Jos monarch bemoans insecurity as farming season kickoffs

The Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Chiefs, Jacob Buba Gyang, has expressed apprehension over the ongoing attacks in various parts of the state as the farming season commences.

Gyang urged Governor Caleb Mutfwang to take immediate measures to ensure the security of lives and property, particularly for residents in rural areas who rely on agriculture for their livelihoods.

Expressing concern that the prevailing killings may disrupt agricultural activities, Gyang urged the governor to take swift action to prevent a potential food crisis.

He conveyed his plea during the launch of Governor Mutfwang’s Tin City Metro buses in Jos, the state capital, on Tuesday.

Gyang emphasised the need for proactive measures to address the insecurity plaguing certain rural areas of the state, citing the fear among farmers that hinders them from tending their fields.
