Dangote, along with three other Nigerian tycoons, has secured a spot on the prestigious 2024 Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest individuals.

Aliko Dangote, the chairman of the renowned Dangote Group, ranked 129th with a formidable net worth of $15.0 billion, solidifying his position as Africa’s richest man and a prominent figure in global business.

Forbes, a US-based global media company, focuses on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle.

Joining Dangote on the list are notable Nigerian business magnates: Mike Adenuga, chairman of Globacom, ranked 407th with a net worth of $6.9 billion, while Abdulsamad Rabiu of the BUA Group and Femi Otedola followed closely, with net worths of $6.3 billion and $1.7 billion respectively, securing positions 462 and 1906 on the list.

Forbes compiled the list using stock prices and exchange rates as of March 8, 2024, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

The United States dominated the rankings with a staggering 813 billionaires, boasting a combined net worth of $5.7 trillion.

China followed closely behind with 473 billionaires worth $1.7 trillion, while India secured third place with 200 billionaires.

The total net worth of the world’s billionaires reached an unprecedented $14.2 trillion in 2024, marking a significant increase of $2 trillion from the previous year’s record.

These figures underscore the remarkable wealth and influence wielded by the world’s elite, highlighting the evolving landscape of global economics and entrepreneurship.
