It is Sad that A Senior Military Officer Left Service Unhappy- AVM Gbolahan React to Gen Keffi
Former Nigeria Air Force Chief of Training and Operations, Air Vice Marshal [AVM] Gbolahan Adekunle [Rtd], has shared his thoughts on General Ali-Keffi’s suggestion for President Bola Tinubu to establish a panel investigating the late Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru’s death.
Expressing concern about revisiting the incident, Adekunle questioned the need for further investigation if it had already been addressed by qualified military authorities.
In an interview with Arise TV, he conveyed his unhappiness about a retired army officer leaving the service discontented. While acknowledging the President’s busy schedule as the nation’s father, Adekunle suggested caution in setting up a panel.

He emphasized the potential consequences of such an action, highlighting the delicate balance between being a responsive leader and avoiding unnecessary involvement in matters already handled by qualified personnel.
In his words;
”First and foremost, I’m not happy that a man after spending useful years of his life in the army leaves unhappy. The President is a busy man, he’s also the father of the nation. If somebody has asked that he takes a second look at an incident which I would rather have assumed has been thoroughly dealt with by those who are qualified to do so.”
Adekunle proposed the idea of a panel cautiously, pondering the potential outcomes, and urged consideration of the implications. He emphasized that such an inquiry could open a Pandora’s box of various issues, questioning the necessity of involving the President in matters that could be addressed at lower levels of authority.
