Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has raised the alarm over the rising incidents of kidnapping in the state.

Speaking while hosting Mr Ahmadu Abdullahi, the new police commissioner in Jigawa at the Government House, the governor said kidnap cases were being recorded weekly in the state.

He said: “Within the last two weeks, I wasn’t happy with the security situation in the state. Two people were kidnapped in one week. That is unacceptable.

“We need to work together to prevent kidnapping in the state.

“The cases of armed robbery are growing. Your officers must work hard at the local level and at the state headquarters.

“Security is everybody’s business. As a government, we will give you all the necessary support to ensure you succeed in your assignment.”
