Group Commends Military Troops for Degrading Boko Haram

The Good Governance Initiative, GGI, has described as a welcome development the reports of insurgents being degraded in the North East.

Recall that Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, recently said there is no community in the state that is still under the control of Boko Haram insurgents.

According to the Governor, the security situation across Borno has improved by over 85 percent.

This is just as Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South Senatorial District said the issue of Boko Haram is now history, while another recent report confirmed a gradual restoration of peace in the popular Dikwa Night Market and the entire town sacked in 2014 and 2016 by Boko Haram insurgents.

Meanwhile, President of GGI, Adeniyi Osho said the confirmation of victory over terrorists is a testimony that the sacrifices of the Armed Forces of Nigeria is not in vain.

Osho attributed the good news coming out from the region to the dedication of officers and men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the leadership of Gen. C.G. Musa.

He expressed joy on the gradual restoration of peace in the popular Dikwa Night Market and the entire North-East and expressed confidence that with ongoing military operations, the people of the region will soon express total peace.

Osho urged the Nigerian media to spread messages of hope, while building the confidence of troops engaged in operations across the country.

According to him, “At this time, patriotism is needed to make the victory of our troops over the insurgents total.”
