The Nigerian Army is set to commence three training across the country to forestall rising cases of criminality during the yuletide period, particularly in South-East, South-South, South-West and North-Central regions of the country.

The exercises are ‘Operation Golden Dawn III’ in the South-East; ‘Enduring Peace III’ in the North-Central and ‘Still Waters III’ in the South-South and South-West.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu disclosed this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Friday.

He said the operations would be formally launched by the Chief of Army Staff Lt-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja at a later date.

Onyema said the operations were designed to improve individual and collective professional competence of the personnel, adding that it would dovetail into real-time operations to tackle various peculiar security challenges in the geo-political zones.
