Rotary Club Asokoro Pledges Enhancement of Human Development Projects in FCT

The Rotary Club of Abuja, Asokoro has reiterated commitment to continue providing valuable services to humanity.

The information was disclosed by the new in-coming President, Diamond, Rtn. Shola Ayanronke Adeleke.

Rtn. Adeleke in an investiture as the 9th President and Club projects fundraising during weekend said she will do her best to ensure that rotary club of Abuja Asokoro Diamond remains committed to the Rotary’s idea of “service above self as they focus on the theme for the year, ”

 

According to her, the purpose of Rotary is to create hope for the society and the World at large world, by striving to execute purposeful and impactful projects covering the seven areas of focus which includes basic Education and literacy, economic/community development, peace and conflict prevention, water and Sanitation, disease prevention and control, maternal and Child health and support for environment in both host and adapted communities and the society at large.

 

“Indeed, we are well aware that this is a great task, and the challenges in doing all these are great, but the potential for meeting them exists in us, hence,  success is attainable.” She added.

 

She therefore charged all the Rotarians to brace up as they strive to truly create hope for the down trodden and the less privileged around them, saying as volunteers, we have chosen to put our resources, time and talent together to serve humanity while seeking support,  commitment, unrelenting selfless service and generous giving so that the club will not be left behind.

 

Wile thanking the Board of Directors and all Club members, for their expression of confidence, absolute honor and trust reposed in her to be saddled with the responsibility of piloting the affairs of the club for the 2023-24 Rotary Year, Adeleke solicited unwavering supports from Rotarians and donors to be able to accomplish the huge tasks before the club.

 

Also speaking, Rtn Adeleke Stephen, the immediate past president, rotary club of Abuja Asokoro Diamond and the chairman of the investiture ceremony, committed the Incoming president in the district to work in synergy with other Rotarians in order to serve a world that deserve their best.

 

Stephen said his administration took over with membership strength of 23 Rotarians and the club grow to 30 with one honorary member, adding that the club is made up to 26 Nigerians and 4 international members comprising 2 Indians, 1 Lebanese and 1 Ugandan also the club had 2 joint fellowship with other clubs during the year.

 

While charging the Rotarians to support the incoming President to provide more valuable services to humanity, he said the club executed 26 service projects during the year under review cutting across seven areas of focus of rotary, especially the complete doses of hepatitis immunization administered to over 30 residents in their adopted community, world breadfeeding week 2022 amongst others.
