Bandits abduct scores of women, 10 construction workers in Zamfara

Armed bandits have kidnapped twenty three female in Damaga district of Maradun local government area of Zamfara state.

A resident of the area, Malam Ahmed Musa Damaga, made the disclosure in an interview with Blueprint via telephone Thursday.

According to him, the incident occured on Wednesday at around 12:00pm, when the victims went to the bush looking for firewood.

“so as I am talking to you now, we’ve discovered twenty of them were now in their captivity,” he said.

In the same vain, the bandits invaded Talata Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara state and kidnapped ten staff of a road construction company popularly known as Triacta.

A resident of the area, Malam Abdulrahman Yusuf, stated this in a telephone conversation on Thursday.

According to him, they invaded the town around 11:00pm last night and began shooting sporadically. They went straight to the house of former member representing Talata Madara and Anka federal house of representatives, Hon. Kabiru Classic.

“The bandits were successfully chased away by the military after spending one and a half hour operating in the town.”

However, efforts to get response from the state police command’s public relations officer ASP. Yazeed Abubakar by our correspondent while compiling the report proved abortive as all his telephone lines are not reachable.
