Scores of Residents Killed As Gunmen Invade Kogi Community
Another tragedy has rocked Kogi State as unknown gunmen reportedly invaded Ejule town in Ofu Local Government Area of the State, killing some residents in the process.
Competent sources said the attack, which started around 3am on Thursday, saw an okada rider, and the wife of a Community Youth Leader reportedly killed in the process.
Reports said the commercial motorcyclist was hit by a stray bullet while the woman, said to have gone in search of her husband also got hit by a stray bullet and died on the spot.

It was also gathered that a family house in the town was razed by the hoodlums and a reliable source said; “I cannot tell you the number of the dead now. Two have been identified, an okada rider and a wife of a known youth in the town have been confirmed dead as a result of the early morning attack.
“The situation is still tense, but more dead bodies are sighted on the streets. No one can go out now”.
Confirming the unfortunate incident in an interview with Daily Trust, Commander Jerry Omadara (rtd), Security Adviser to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, said details of the attack were yet to reach him officially.
According to him; “Someone just drew my attention to the incident. I am yet to get the details. I will get back to you shortly.”
Also, with no official reaction coming from the State Police Command, reports from the affected area indicated that as of 9.30am, some residents still remained indoors while others had fled the town afraid that the killer gang may return to visit further mayhem on them.
