CNS Gambo Commissions World Class Housing Estate, other Projects For Navy Personnel
Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Auwal Zubairu Gambo has commissioned a series of projects that will enhance the performance and operational capabilities of a navy Personnels.
The projects include the newly renovated and remodeled accommodation facilities at Ushafa and Gudu as well as the Administration Building, Parade Ground and Special Forces Holding Bay at Naval Unit Abuja.
The Navy Chief said that the commissioning of the newly renovated Naval Ratings’ accommodation at NDC Quarters Ushafa and the Naval Officers’ Quarters Gudu showcased the commitment to the welfare of their personnels.
“Barracks are not just buildings; they are the homes and sanctuaries where our officers and ratings find solace and support from their families. By investing in the development of Nigeria Navy barracks and other infrastructure, we create an environment that enhances their morale, team spirit and a sense of belonging.
“Our personnel deserve nothing short of the best, and these new infrastructure demonstrate our commitment to their comfort and well-being,” He added.
The Navy Chief also commissioned the Rear Admiral AO Suleiman Special Forces Holding Bay Navy Town Abuja, named after the pioneer Commander of the Nigeria Navy SBS that signifies the commitment to the personnel’s welfare and acknowledgement of the vital role they play in our Naval and joint operations.

He also commissioned the new parade ground, emphasizes their dedication to upholding the highest standards of military professionalism and ensuring that Nigeria Navy personnel have the necessary infrastructure to train and perform at their best.
“A well-maintained Parade Ground is not only a space of military tradition but also a symbol of discipline, precision, and unity.
“It is on this hallowed ground that our naval personnel are mustered to demonstrate their skills, rehearse their drills, and express their readiness to protect our nation’s interests,” He added.
He also commissioned a modern administrative building for NUA that signifies the commitment to operational effectiveness, providing for personnel with the necessary resources and facilities required for efficient administrative responsibilities.
“Likewise, the Administrative building of any military formation serves as a hub where vital administrative and operational tasks are planned, enabling smooth coordination, effective communication, and streamlined decision-making,” He said.
On his part, the head of Naval Unit base, Abuja, Commandant A Mohammed expressed his happiness for another milestone in the fulfillment of Nigerian Navy’s efforts towards providing adequate accommodation, office spaces and training facilities for its personnel.
“As we gather today to commission these projects,I feel a strong sense of gratitude for these noble ideas conceived and executed by the chief of the Naval Staff.
“This kind gesture of the Chief Naval Staff will enhance stability, efficiency and proficiency for officers and ratings of NUA. It will also boost that morale and thus, foster commitment for readiness in service delivery,” He added.
