How to Revive Tourism in Niger State
Tourism is one of the important elements of economic tools for the rapid growth and development of a state like Niger. It is gratifying that His Excellency was able to acknowledge it as one of the priority areas for self-growth and sustenance for Nigerlites generally.
Niger State has many tourism attractive areas scattered across the state. However, these tourist areas are not developed, and most lies within the local areas. In my research, there are good tourist sites such as:
i- At Bida where River Landzun takes its source at Egbazhi.
ii-Bida Masaga glass works.
iii-Bida Twastamuku brass works
iv-Dokodza iron works.

vii- Suleja Manyaka Falls.
viii- Gurara falls.
ix-Lots of tourist sites around New Busa areas.
x- Gani kutigi festivals and others within Zone A.
xi-Boat regatta can be encouraged at our riverine areas on quarterly and yearly bases.
xii- Others.
If these and other sites can be discovered and developed properly, it will add more to state revenue generation, boost employment opportunities and help in curtailing insecurities.
Therefore, the Department of Tourism in one of the State’s Ministries must be well supported.
May we be guided.
