Group Hails Military Operations in Borno, Chibok Girls’ Rescue

The Borno Women Peace Restoration Group (BWPRG) has expressed hope that the State will begin to experience total peace very soon.

BWPRG, in a press statement on Monday, commended military troops for uncovering some underground armory of the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, in Sambisa Forest.

Mrs. Amina Mele, Secretary of the Group, in the statement, said their BWPRG, welcomed ongoing military operations in the state, especially clearance operations in Sambisa Forest, saying it is a step in the right direction.

During the Sambisa Forest operations, troops recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, Emergency Digest gathered.

Similarly, the women commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for rescuing some of the kidnapped Chibok girls.

They expressed hope that the remaining girls in captivity would also be rescued soon.

Announcing the latest rescue of the Chibok girl, Ms. Saratu Dauda on 6th May 2023, Theatre Commander, North-East Joint Operation, Hadin Kai, Major General Ibrahim Ali, it would be recalled said that a total of 183 Chibok school girls have so far been rescued from captivity, with 93 schoolgirls remaining.

BWPRG, further commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria, under the leadership of Gen. LEO Irabor for putting heavy fire on the insurgents.

“We are happy over the fatherly disposition of the present Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. LEO Irabor towards the plight of families that have been in stress since the abduction of their daughters in 2014.

“We not only hope that ongoing military operations in our state and the entire North-East will restore total peace, but bring back our daughters in the hand of the terrorists,” it said.
