Eight dead, seven injured in Bauchi fatal crash
No fewer than eight people died while seven others were injured in a lone crash in Bauchi State, the state Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps has confirmed.
The state FRSC command, in an FIR release by the Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, said that the accident involved a grey VW Sharon mini bus with vehicle registration number, BCH 465 XA, which belonged to the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers’ fleet and used for commercial purposes.
The report stated that the fatal crash occurred at Kili village on the Darazo – Kari Federal Highway on Thursday at 12.03 pm. It added that emergency responders arrived at the scene for rescue operation was 12.10 pm.

“The total number of people involved in the crash was 15 made up of four male adults, six female adults, two male children, and three female children,” the statement said.
Disclosing the details of the injured person, the FIR said they comprised one male adult, four female adults, and two female children.
Furthermore, the type of injuries were bruises, head injury, and fracture, while the probable cause of the crash was tyre bursts just as some personal effects were retrieved from the scene and obstruction cleared.
The eight who lost their lives in the accident comprised three male adults, two female adults, two male children, and one female child.
The corpses and injured were evacuated to the General Hospital, Darazo, for confirmation and medical attention. After that, the rescue team returned to the Base successfully, led by the rescuer, SMI E Madu.
