My Advice to the President-Elect
By Usman Suleiman Sarki
The dogged kingmaker has finally made a heroic conquest of defying all odds to became the king himself.
The emergence of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the President-elect in the just concluded Presidential election justified the power of electorates and the confidence they have in him towards salvaging the country especially reviving the ailing socio-economic status of the country.
This is not unconnected to his antecedents when he steered the affairs of Nigeria’s most popular city- Lagos, for 8 years when he served as the Governor from 1999-2007. It is a well known fact that Asiwaju is a technocrat with passion for social, economic and infrastructural development. This has been the secret behind his success in transformation of Lagos State to what it is today.
In view of the foregoing, I am appealing to the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to replicate the same tactics he previously employed in Lagos towards changing the current trends of the country to a better narrative.

However, this can only be achieved when the Jagaban Borgu President Asiwaju takes full charge of the government and selects competent cabinet members that will support him in administering the affairs of the country. A caliber and gesture that Asiwaju was famously known for when it comes to selecting kitchen cabinets. He chooses the best brains who can surely deliver the job successfully.
Thus, the president-elect should not allow his cabinet members to over act and hijack the government affairs thereby running a syndicate known as ‘cabal’ who decide what should or should not be done as that may undermine the success of his administration.
It is imperative for Asiwaju to first and foremost understand that Nigerians have high expectations from his government to turn things around, a reason that gave them confidence to defy all the odds and casted their votes for him in the just concluded presidential poll.
To that effect, Tinubu should immediately embark on revamping the economic, educational, energy, health and agricultural institutions towards betterment of the country and the welfare of the teaming citizens.
May the president-elect has a smooth, successful and hitch-free administration, now and beyond.
Congratulations to the Jagaban Borgu.
