Customs hands over impounded drones to Navy
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) yesterday handed over 86 pieces of impounded drones to the Nigerian Navy.
It said the gesture was in line with the renewed synergy among the security agencies.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Controller Suleiman Bomoi said the drones were imported without the mandatory End User Certificate from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and had to be seized.
He said the End User Certificate is required for the importation and use of drones in the country.

“The drones are among the things that require End User Certificate which is issued by the National Security Adviser; so for failing to produce the End User Certificate, we had to seize the drones.
“We intercepted the drones at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and we went to the High Court to get an Order,” he said.
Receiving the drones on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Training and Operations Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Solomon O. Agada, said the “86 drones will be used appropriately in service to the Nigerian Navy and the nation at large”.
