Gunmen kill resident, abduct monarch in Plateau
The paramount ruler of Tal chiefdom, the Golong Tal, His Highness Nanleng Yusuf Gotus, in Pankshin local government area of Plateau State, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the palace of the paramount ruler at about 1:00 am yesterday and him away.

It was learnt that the kidnappers have contacted the palace, demanding N50 million in ransom.
Police spokesman Alfred Alabo confirmed the incident, saying the command had deployed security personnel to rescue the traditional ruler.
On Sunday, suspected Fulani militias ambushed a 23-year-old man, stabbing him to death in Bangai village of Riyom council of the state.
The residents appealed to the security authorities to stop the attacks.
