A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), The Water Mechanics Initiative (TWMI), together with the support of Charity and Vulnerable Support Initiative (CVSI), has began repairing damaged water pumps at some communities in Kano State.
The gesture is part of the NGOs’ efforts towards ensuring the provision of portable drinking water to remote areas in the State.
The State Coordinator of TWMI, Rukayyah Nabage, disclosed this in a statement forwarded to the Chief Executive Officer of CVSI, Aminu Lawal.
Nabage, stated that they were able to identify the communities with dilapidated water pumps after a thorough survey conducted by their technical team.
She said; “We are pleased to inform you that after a lot of hard work and diligence, The H2O Mechanics Initiative has successfully identified and embarked on the repairs of 7 hand pumps in Kano State.
“The pumps were identified through a survey of non-functional pumps in rural communities outside Kano city. These pumps are located in Chinkoso, Kanwa, and Rikadawa communities of Madobi LGA.
