Insecurity: COAS tasks senior military officers on professionalism
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya has charged senior military officers to be more professional and raise their performance in the ongoing military operations in the country.
Yahaya gave the charge while delivering a lecture on his “Vision for the Nigerian Army”, to students of Senior Course 45 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji on Friday.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, made this known is a statement in Abuja.
The COAS highlighted the pillars of his command to include professionalism, readiness, administration and cooperation with other security agencies and stakeholders.
He said that those pillars drove his vision “to have a Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Missions within a Joint Environment”.
He added that the vision was a deliberate and conscious effort to achieve the constitutional mandate of the Nigerian army.

The Commandant of the College, AVM Oluwarotimi Tuwase, urged participants from the army to key into the vision of the COAS during and after their course, to effectively tackle the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
The COAS later inaugurated the Jaji Military Cantonment Physiotherapy Centre to boost healthcare services for soldiers and their families.
While inaugurating the ultra modern Physiotherapy Center, Yahaya expressed optimism that it would be put to purposeful use.
The COAS was also conducted round some projects by the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Maj.-Gen. Monday Ali.
The projects include,among others, the Reconnaisance and Airborne Training Wings.
